Prof. Guiyou Huang Pays a Visit to QFNU
Wednesday, April 26, 2017, Prof. Guiyou Huang, LSUA Chancellor and a distinguished QFNU alumnus, visited his alma mater for exchanges. Mr. Zhang Honghai, President of QFNU met with Prof. Huang and presented him the letter of appointment for distinguished professor.
Mr. Zhang extended warm welcome and offered his congratulations to Prof. Huang on his achievements, and also expressed his gratitude for Prof. Huang’s long-standing supports to QFNU. Mr. Zhang made a brief introduction to the recent achievements of QFNU, and the goals, ideas and initiatives for the "Double First-class” construction, and mainly exchanged ideas with Prof. Huang on foreign exchanges and cooperation, overseas study activities of teachers and students, introduction of overseas high-level talents, preparation for overseas alumni association and others. Mr. Zhang hoped that both sides could work together to enhance cooperation and exchanges and achieve mutual benefits.
Prof. Huang said that he was very excited to return back to his alma mater and sincerely proud of the development and achievements of QFNU as an overseas alumnus. Prof. Huang introduced Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA), shared his own researches on international education, recalled his good days on the campus of QFNU, and expressed that he would continue his contribution to the development of QFNU.
During his visit, Prof. Huang delivered a lecture to the undergraduates and graduates and held a talk with the teachers of the School of Foreign Languages.
Prof. Huang graduated from the School of Foreign Languages of QFNU in 1983, and once worked in Texas A&M University, Grand Valley State University, University of St. Thomas and Norwich University.
